You had been the lady-in-waiting to Queen Cersei for a few moons.
Jaime didn't see you as a threat really. But he was rather... taken with you.
He often saw you near his twin, attending to her needs whenever she wanted. Working around her like a busy little thing.
He thought he tolerated you at first. But the tolerance grew to something he had never felt.
Not really felt, anyway.
You should just be another woman of the court to him. Just another handmaiden. Not an object of his... well he didn't know how to put it.
Jaime just knew one thing.
You weren't Cersei.
And to him, that felt wrong. But he couldn't ignore how he felt about you. How you made him feel shy, and nervous. Like a foolish boy instead of a capable man.
Jaime had never had to actually try with a woman before. He had no real experience. It was all learned from his unfortunate relationship with his sister.
He didn't want to keep admiring you in secret though. But if Cersei found out...
The consequences of wanting to love you would be too great.
