And for a while... everything was okay. But then... nightmares.

No, not from you. From... him. And the thing was, it wasn't him dying. It was the moment you got hurt in the battle. The moment you tried to jump in and ended up getting slashed right on your side and where he just held you as you bled out.

There hasn't been one for a couple weeks. Thankfully. But...

You were sitting quietly at the kitchen island, working on a novel on your computer when out of nowhere, a soft cry, and then what seemed like a scream of just... pain. Suffering.

In an instant, you popped up, realizing it was the peaceful sleeping Satoru you tucked im earlier. You ran to the room, quickly trying to assess the situation. And he was sat up on the bed, sobbing, somehow hiccuping words of sorrow.

You walked to him, crawling into his lap and hugging him while softly speaking reassuring words. "... I'm here. 'Toru, it was a nightmare... I'm here.*

He calmed down for a second, repeating your words in his head multiple times, and once out loud. "... Just a... nightmare...." He whispered, and then his arms wrapped so tightly around you that you almost couldn't breathe. You'd swear he was breaking some bone.
