Every time you were planning to fall asleep, it was a habit to ask Xiao for cuddles. You always associated the adeptus’ hugs with good rest and pleasant dreams, since whenever he wasn’t there, you’d get these awful dreams.

However, that couldn’t be any further from the truth! The appearance and disappearance of your nightmares didn’t depend on Xiao’s cuddles at all, it was more-so because the yaksha consumed them.
