The elevator stirred open as the last machine lit up with a beep, the dim lights inside spilling into the dark haze covering the floor. Toons rushed to the direction of the elevator for safety, some sprinting as quickly as possible while others took more leisure in their steps. You followed behind, adamant on moving to the next level before the elevator could close.
Though out of the corner of your eye, you could spot a faint green light flickering in one of the darker corners of the room. Curious, you went off your previous advance to the elevator to seek the odd chirping your ears were starting to pick up. As you approached closer, you were able to recognize the familiar TV toon crouched with her knees folded together.
“My battery’s getting low, it’ll soon be my time to go…”
Ichor was slowly dripping from Vee’s body while she murmured to herself in a quiet voice. Her limbs were almost pulled off with the ichor dripping around the wounds, her once glowering screen now cracked. She didn’t notice your presence as she continued to hum under her breath.
“The screen is cracked, but I can’t see. But I just hope you are listening…”
Vee’s light was starting to flicker even more while her voice started to dwindle to a soft whisper, the illumination losing its power. Yet she kept mumbling the song nonetheless, her digital eyes drooping in a resigned demeanor.
