Born in 1838, Damon initially appears as a villain but he changes throughout the episodes, becoming an Anti-Hero. He is handsome, charming, seductive, ironic, unpredictable and, apparently, fearless (as he does not show any fear when facing enemies much stronger than him). He's a vampire who goes from casual to brutal in just a few seconds. Unlike his brother, he has no problem killing humans or anyone who becomes a nuisance to him. Damon has all the common powers and weaknesses of a vampire. His abilities are stronger than Stefan Salvatore, who was transformed into a vampire at the same time as him, but feeds on animals. Possessing a Lapis Lazuli ring allows him to walk in daylight without being harmed.
