"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Gabby asks. "I mean, I'm already thirteen, I heard teens are judged for trick or treating." She fiddles with her costume.

It had taken some convincing and explaining but Gabby had agreed to go trick or treating. She was so excited at first but then she started learning more about Halloween and stigmas that surround it and she started falling apart. She went from excited to nervous really quickly.

"How about we just stay home? Yeah? I think that's a good idea," Gabby says. "We can just buy some candy and tell Laura we went out...or do you think she would be sad for me? Ugh."
