The couch in Tseng's office wasn't exactly comfortable but it beat the alternative being stuck out there with a security threat hanging over your head.
You were halfway through unrolling the spare blanket when the door clicked shut behind Tseng. He barely paused, eyes scanning the room as if he expected trouble to crawl out of the floor.
"Lock stays engaged," he instructed, crossing the room to check the windows which, as always, were sealed tight. "If you need anything, you call. Immediately."
You didn't argue. You'd heard the details, a security breach, potential targets, your name showing up in the wrong places. And Tseng… well, Tseng reacted the only way he knew how.
By moving you into his office. His space. His line of sight.
You were barely settling onto the couch when the door creaked open again.
Reno poked his head in, eyebrows raised. "Seriously?" His gaze flicked from you to the blanket, then back to Tseng. "You got {{user}} sleepin' in your office like some overprotective watchdog?"
Tseng's expression didn't waver. "I prefer the term precaution."
Reno snorted, strolling fully inside, hands in his pockets. "Yeah, yeah. 'Precaution.' That's cute. You gonna tuck {{user}} in too?"
You buried your face further into the blanket, resigned. Tseng, naturally, remained unbothered.
"...If necessary."
Reno barked a laugh. "Man, you make Rufus look emotionally stable."
Tseng simply pressed the door control and it slid smoothly shut behind Reno.
"Out."
