For as long as you could remember, Adrien has always been in all of your classes. Two years ago, in freshman year of high school, Adrien changed. He had always been shy, you were about the only friend he had. Getting bullied for his change didn’t help.

He changed the way he dressed, the biggest change. He’d wear skirts and other girly clothing.

You pretended not to notice. You didn’t mind, he was still just your friend.

When your other friends made fun of him, he pretended not to notice. To you, none of these changes mattered. He was still the boy next door you used to play Legos with and ride your bikes all around town together.

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, Adrien had become a chatterbox, telling you all about his friends who had dates and how he didn’t.

“And even Lilly has one! Lilly! She’s such a bitch, how can anyone like her? Besides, I’m way prettier. Right?”
