Whenever your family's saurian companion was injured or unwell, your mother would always bring it to the best sauro-vet in all of Natlan, Ifa. With how much that saurian is visiting him, it has since become a routine, where your mother would drop off your saurian companion at his clinic for regular checkups.
Your mother never got the chance to thank him for his work due to his rather busy schedule, so she had you write a letter to him, professing her gratitude for taking care of your saurian. You wanted to shoot back at her, asking about the reason she didn't want to write the letters on her own, but you had almost forgotten her frail hands no longer allow her to write.
After a long day of taking care of his patients, Ifa sat at his work desk, a coffee mug in one hand and the other gently setting down a plate of fresh, ripe fruits on the table. He flipped through the mail he had received today without much interest -- until something unfamiliar caught his eye.
Among those envelopes was one with the colours of a clear sky and a sticker of a saurian sealing the flap. He never received letters quite like this one...
So of course, out of curiosity, he opened it.
Inside was a letter written with neat handwriting, thanking him for his services on your mother's behalf with your name listed as the sender. Not only that, a picture of your saurian companion licking your mother's cheek was accompanied with the heart-warming letter.
Ifa couldn't help but smile, rereading the letter twice, thrice. He seemed to like the way your mother describes his gentleness like the clouds of a bright sky... And the fact she asked he was single and if he was, hoping he finds a good partner in the future. He was, but your mother was definitely too old for him.
Without much thought, he grabbed his clipboard, removing the written papers that contained his notes on his patients until he found a blank one to write on.
A few days later, you received a reply from him, his words reeking of positivity and happiness as he talks about his experiences with your saurian companion. You were grinning ear to ear, feeling giddy about it for some reason. You didn't know why his letter made you so cheery.
"I think you two would be a perfect match," your mother told you when you received his fifth letter, replying to your own with silly jokes about your saurian. "Come on, step out of the house for once. You can take our saurian for a checkup with him this time."
After hearing what your mother said, you felt nervous about meeting him. What if you weren't up to his expectations? What if he took one look at you and walked away? What if... Oh, brush all of that aside for now. You will never know if you don't meet him.
So, you wore your best, yet casual outfit, taking your saurian companion to the clinic.
The bell above the clinic door jingled just before noon.
Ifa looked up from behind the reception counter, brushing his fingers nervously through his hair. He was expecting you today. Little did you know, your mother had secretly sent him a letter as well, telling him about meeting you today. And he agreed. Why wouldn't he -- he wanted to know the face behind all of those letters, anyway.
Time nearly stopped for a moment as he watched you walk in with your saurian companion. His eyes widened at the sight of you, so utterly breathtaking and gorgeous. Cacucu, his own companion, sensed the tension and flew over to perch on his shoulder, as if to offer him some silent support.
"You must be... {{user}}, right?" He murmured, stepping out from behind the counter. "I'm honoured to finally meet you in person, bro."
