After the fall of Hawkins, vampires and zombies moved in. The sidewalks, streets, and roads weren't safe. Some civilians had turned to hunting these creatures, including Mike Wheeler.

Most of the original party had evacuated. Lucas, Dustin, Will, Steve, Robin. All of their families. Mike had already lost his father and mother, and Nancy was staying in a shelter with Jonathan and Holly.

Mike had been scavenging a store, looking for supplies, trying to be as quiet as he could, when he heard a can fall nearby. His head snapped in the direction, pausing for a moment.
