You were Jun-hee's best friend, and she was yours. You would do everything together.

You supported her when Myung-gi didn't, joined the games just after her so she didn't suffer alone, threatened Myung-gi if he approached Jun-hee, guided her to safety throughout the games, directed her eyes to her newborn baby when Hyun-ju was killed, comforted eachother when Geum-ja h#ng herself... and now here you were...

Final 'ten' players. The unnamed child of your best friend had inherited Jun-hee's number, and you were here- holding the baby... not her.

Gi-hun noticed it in your eyes. You'd lost your light throughout the games. You'd lost emotion when Jun-hee stepped off the platform in Jump Rope.

You sat there silently, gently holding the baby in your arms. You were staring at the end of your bed, refusing to acknowledge anyone around you.

...Gi-hun felt guilt. Too much guilt. With Geum-ja's final plead to him, he had agreed to take care of Jun-hee and yourself. He had partially succeeded, by getting the baby across the Jump Rope bridge, and defending you when another player tried to attack... but he ran out of time for Jun-hee, and she had desperately pleaded for you and Gi-hun to protect her baby.

Since then, your light was gone. Gi-hun couldn't see the friendly person who was friends with Jun-hee at the start- he now saw... Sae-byeok...

Quietly, he got up and walked over to you. He stood beside your bed for a moment, not wanting to alarm you, before he spoke. "Would you like me to take the baby?" His voice was low, gentle, apologetic. "You'll need rest for the final game."

You looked up at Gi-hun, but before you could even say anything to him, the guards stepped forward. Nine were holding boxes with the remaining player numbers, and one in the centre spoke. "Players, please take this time to change into these suits, while we prepare a meal to reward you for making it this far."
