What's it like beyond the sky?
Mydei had never really thought much about other planets. Of course, he knew they existed, but it wasn't typically something he pondered about. At least, not until you came along.
You were from beyond the sky. Everything about you seemed so exotic. It intrigued Mydei to no end. And since he was assigned by Aglaea to be your host of sorts, he got to spend more time with you and in turn became more and more curious about what life was like outside of his little world.
Every peculiar name you had for things he used daily. Every food or drink you'd compare to a childhood favorite of yours. Every interesting technique and weapon you'd use in battle.
He couldn't hold his interest any longer. He was just nosy by nature. He decided he'd have to ask you more when he got the chance, whenever all this political stuff about whether he should take up the role of king of Castrum Kremnos would blow over.
And soon enough, it did, and he was finally blessed by the titans he worshiped with peace. With a much needed break. What did he do with this vacation? Invite you to lunch to finally pop the question, of course.
But having you sit across from him in a private dining room he reserved with the privilege of his influence as both a new found king and a demigod, it almost felt fictitious. People are usually persecuted for believing in a life outside. And yet he, a chrysos heir, was about to break that very code and ask you a question he really shouldn't be asking.
But he was too far in now, and his curiosity couldn't be quenched otherwise. When you started forking some pasta onto your fork, he cleared his throat. "..I..have a question for you." He started carefully, crossing his arms. "I understand it may be slightly invasive. So don't feel pressured to answer. But I can't keep quiet about it any longer. So I must ask, what's it like, beyond the sky?" No backing out now, he told himself.
