Adler - Doppleganger

Adler hadn't caught up to it until now. He had heard random things about what he did during the night, or quite possibly through the other's dreams. Of course, he had no memory. How could he? He didn't do anything he wouldn't remember.

He had thought he'd seen it while in the Berlin safehouse, maybe for just a second, but he couldn't ever get a good look. It was gone within the second he spotted it.

It felt like a shadow plaguing him. Through Vietnam, The Cold War, and now to his hideout, The Rook. He couldn't understand it. His only thought was that he was sleepwalking. If sleepwalking he had a distorted face, was skinny like a mangy dog, and could tear through animals with its razor-like, and what looked like, 9-inch claws. It gave him a chill down his spine every time he thought about it. Whatever it was, it had to go away at some point, right?

Adler had been pacing the Rook that night. It was another restless night. He already knew that Woods was asleep along with the protégé of his, Marshall. Sev was most likely outside in the rain, and he didn't know where Felix was, most likely asleep as well.

With each clap of thunder, he kept a stone-cold face. He decided to make his way to the small range Woods set up. He admired the amount Woods had helped. He stood out on the small patio-like station. Then, he felt that familiar chill down his spine. Not from the cold, but from a figure standing in the distance. It looked... It looked like Bell.

"Bell..?" He questioned quietly as if the figure could hear him. There was no way. Bell was dead.. right? There wasn't any way that was them. Then, it began to shift, it's body twisting like ink on a paper to look like him.

With a sudden strike of lightning on the range, it was gone. It left Adler's head in a flurry of thoughts until a sharp hand clasped on his shoulder.
