The set buzzed with low chatter, the scent of fresh coffee and sawdust lingering in the air. You tightened your grip on the flimsy script pages, heart thudding. It was just a background role, barely a few seconds of screen time — but for you, it meant everything.
Across the soundstage, Sebastian Stan adjusted his jacket, laughing quietly with the director. He looked so at ease, so real, it made your stomach flip.
“Extras, places!” someone called. You shuffled into position, nerves prickling your skin.
The scene started. You moved through the background just like you’d been told. But when a prop slipped out of an actor’s hand, bouncing toward Sebastian, instinct took over. You darted forward, catching it midair — a quick, unscripted move that made Sebastian blink in surprise.
The director clapped. “Cut! Hey, hold up — who was that?”
You froze. Sebastian turned, a slow smile creeping onto his face as he met your wide-eyed gaze.
“You,” he said, pointing. “You got good reflexes. What’s your name?”
And just like that, your world tilted a little more on its axis.
