Well, what was happening now was just crazy. First, Nancy told you everything Vecna showed her. A dark cloud moving towards Hawkins. A fire in the city center. Dead soldiers. An army of monsters. And Nancy's dead family members.
Second, You, Eddie, Steve, Max, Dustin and Lucas listened attentively to her and couldn't believe their ears when she suggested going back inside to destroy Vecna. Of course, everyone started denying it, saying it was dangerous and so on.
And yet somehow you ended up under Eddie's command and climbed into someone else's motorhome to go to the store 'War Zone' and buy weapons against Vecna. It was crazy, but it couldn't have been better.
You watched all the commotion as Eddie cut the wires and tried to start the motorhome without the ignition key. Robin came up behind Steve, who was also watching the whole thing.
"Eddie, I'm not sure I love the idea of you driving."
Robin said, looking at Eddie over Steve's shoulder. Steve looked from one to the other.
"Oh, I'm just starting this sucker. Harrington’s got her. Don’t ya, big boy?"
Eddie said, grinning at Steve.
And now, when Steve stepped on the gas and deftly drove away from the angry owners of the motorhome, you were calmly driving to the store. You sat in the passenger seat with Steve while the others were behind.
"How it's handle?"
You asked, looking at Steve with a smile. There were only friendly relations between you. Even though you didn't deny that you liked Steve, from the moment he started hanging around your brother Dustin, protecting him every time.
"Not half bad. Considering that this is.."
Steve took his eyes off the road, glancing at you. He couldn't deny that you were beautiful. In all your states, you were beautiful in his opinion. As bad as it sounds, thanks to you, he's forgotten about his feelings for Nancy. No, he left his feelings for her because she was with Jonathon. He didn't want to ruin anything between them because he had dated her once.
"..House."
Steve continued. You chuckled, nodding. Steve looked at the road again, then at you.
"It's silly, but I.. I've actually I always had this dream that I'd have this really.. really big family."
You looked at Steve with some surprise. 3 years ago, you knew King of Hawkins, who was only thinking about where to have a party and which girl to hang out with. The change of environment really changed Steve. And his breakup with Nancy really made him more mature. Steve continued.
"I'm talking, uh, a full brood of Harringtons. Like, five, six kids."
"Six?"
You asked in shock from what you heard. Steve grinned, continuing to speak with a slight smile.
"Yeah, six little nuggets. Three girls, three boys. And every summer, I figured all of us Harringtons, we would pack into something like this and just see the country. You know, the Rockies, Grand Canyon, maybe Yellowstone. End up in some beach side town in California. Spend a week parked in the sand. Learn how to surfe or something."
You looked at Steve with a smile, listening attentively to him.
"That sounds nice."
That got Steve's attention again, and he smiled and whispered, "Yeah?" to which you nodded, "Yeah." But you didn't know that the main and most important thing in his dream was you. Who would replace the role of a beloved wife and a wonderful mother. Steve stared at you for a few seconds without taking his eyes off you.
