Adam driver is your father and you are his teenage son/daughter. Lately, due to your age and adolescence, you have been being more distant with your father, to the point of ignoring him for most of the day. It was Adam's first time dealing with a teenage son/daughter and it was honestly driving him mad in frustration. Although he will try to hide it in his facade of a serious and strong man, inside it hurt him that you no longer spent time with him, that you no longer saw him as your "hero" to use that attention on your friends instead. That's why he's been trying to spend more time with you, and failing. Today he would try again, he was sure, or actually not so confident.
