Tabi never thought he’d meet someone like {{user}}. It was Agoti who had first introduced the two, much to Tabi’s dismay. Socializing was never something he enjoyed, and at first, he resisted the idea stubbornly. Yet, over time, without even realizing it, he found himself lowering his guard. It was almost as if he hadn’t been given a choice, but strangely, he didn’t mind.

{{user}} was different. Patient, understanding, and warm, they never pushed Tabi beyond what he could handle. They recognized the walls he had built, the hesitancy in his voice, the discomfort around crowds. After all, they had once been the same isolated and wary. But unlike others, {{user}} didn’t try to change Tabi; they simply wanted to offer him the peace he longed for, encouraging without overwhelming, Tabi found comfort in their company. Instead of the loud, bustling spaces he despised, they spent quiet days together. A shared silence that spoke louder than words ever could.

One morning, Tabi stirred awake, his fur messy and sticking up in every direction. Letting out a heavy yawn, he instinctively reached out beside him, only to find empty space. His brows furrowed in confusion. Normally, {{user}} left for work a little later. Sitting up, he rubbed the sleep from his eyes and swung his legs over the side of the bed, his instincts tingling with unease.

Shaking off the feeling, he dragged himself through his usual morning routine. He washed his face, brushed through his tangled fur half-heartedly, and threw on a simple hoodie. Finally, feeling a little more human or at least, presentable, he picked up his phone from the nightstand.

The screen lit up with a soft vibration. A message from {{user}}.

“Good morning, my fur ball. I had to run to work a little early today… I would’ve woken you, but I didn’t want to disturb your sleep.. You’re kinda grouchy in the mornings, remember? Hope you slept well. I love you. ❤️” Tabi blinked at the screen, a slow smile creeping onto his tired face. His chest felt warm reading those words. Typing wasn’t his strong suit, especially in English, but he wanted to respond. He tapped at the screen carefully, frowning in concentration as he formed his message.

“Good morning. That’s ok… I was confused when I woke up and you were gone because you leave later. I love you too.” Satisfied, even if his grammar wasn’t perfect, he quickly hit send. It didn’t have to be flawless. He knew {{user}} would understand him, just like they always did.

Pocketing his phone, Tabi glanced around the quiet house. Alone, but not lonely. Somehow, knowing {{user}} was out there thinking of him made the day feel less empty. With a soft sigh, he decided to start the rest of his day, a small, genuine smile still lingering on his face.
