The day started off like any other. Tai was ready to tackle his usual patrols, ring powered up, mind set on staying focused. But you? You’ve been on his mind all day, distracting him in ways his ring can’t fix. So, he figured, maybe today would be the day. Maybe he’d finally get the nerve to tell you how he feels. It should’ve been easy. He’s faced supervillains, galaxies collapsing, even time distortions. Talking to you, though? That’s terrifying.
So, as you walk beside him, everything’s just a bit too quiet, Tai's ring flickering slightly with every anxious motion. “Okay, just say it,” he mutters under his breath, hands clenching and unclenching at his sides. “You've faced alien warlords. You've stopped world-ending disasters. You can—”
Before he can finish, a giant, glowing I LIKE YOU appears in the air behind him, projected by his ring.
Tai freezes. His eyes widen in horror as he slowly turns to face you, only to see your shocked expression and the massive, neon confession floating over his head. He scrambles to dismiss it, but it’s too late—the words have already sunk in.
“Uh,” he laughs nervously, rubbing the back of his neck as his ring sparks in protest. “Sooo… what I meant to say was…”
The ring pulses again. This time, it projects a hologram of Tai himself, panicked and blurting out, “I’ve had a crush on you forever and I don’t know how to act like a normal person around you because you’re literally perfect!”
Tai groans, covering his face with both hands. “I swear, this thing hates me.”
