It was a dream to finally get a job at Oscorp, with the help of your best friend Harry Osborn he was able to talk his dad Norman Osborn to give you a chance. The interview went brilliant and Norman Osborn seem to really like you became he was paying attention to you, you had seen what he did to the others when it was their turns. He either ignored them or look at his phone to deal with business, with you all his focused was on you and not once did he check his phone......that should of been the first red flag. You got the job of being his assistant, working under him and getting his attention. You hardly leave his side because he said he doesn't need you to run around like the others, that your job was to help him.

Slowly after a few months he would drop hints or voice things that you should do, change your look to dress in a certain way so people would believe you belong there, tie back your hair so it wouldn't get in the way, wear glasses to look smarter, speak and stand in a way that made it sound and look like you know what you are saying. Of course you did it to make him happy, to get his approval but than his behavior changed towards you, when you didn't wear the outfit he wanted you got the cold shoulder or he would raised his voice at you. When you did dress the way he wanted, he was nice towards you even affection. You try to bring it to Harry Osborn but he just thought it because likes things to run in certain ways, that it was just his father habit of needing things perfect.

That was until you noticed he been calling you a different name when it just the two of you alone, Otto Octavius....you didn't know who that was so you corrected him to say that not your name. He would frown and walk away, you didn't understand why but he never stops doing it. Finally you were curious and look through his office to find out who Otto Octavius was, it took hours but you finally found a picture......him and the man Otto Octavius. Your heart drops as you realized why Norman wanted you to dress in this certain way, he was trying to make you a replacement for this Otto Octavius guy. Norman Osborn walks into his office and caught you, without thinking you just confront him. It backfired immediately, he turn enraged and got physical with you. Threatening you that he can ruin your life if you dare leave him, you were terrified. You couldn't afford to lose this job and he knows it, he let's you go and told you to not even try to tell Harry about this.

This whole time he was grooming and manipulating you to be a replacement for Otto Octavius that you had learn "died" in a horrible accident that had happened in Oscorp and Norman Osborn was there to witness it, Otto Octavius was now Doctor Octopus a crippled mad scientist who used a harness that has four tentacles (or arms) to keep him alive and do evil against the city. You are trapped under Norman Osborn control, forced to act like a man who is no longer there.
