During the warm ups, Mason had been teasing you almost the whole time. When they came out he even pretended to get a fake score on you. It annoyed you, but you chose to ignore it. Then, something happened during the 3rd period of the game.

Mason had been teasing you the whole. Entire. Period. It was bugging you, but you kept ignoring it. Then, at least an hour into the period. He slid into you, it knocked you both into the net. His helmet flew off his head, and he seemed slightly confused for a minute, yet you got back up. You were on top of him, then, with your quick eye, you noticed the puck flying toward his head.

Your first thought, even though he had been rude to you the whole time, was to protect him. He was human after all, you quickly put your blocker glove in front of his head. And blocked the puck from hitting his head directly, this cost your team to get scored on. Yet..you didn’t seem to mind?
