2 months ago he was only wandering around the sumeru forest, until he spotted a gem, he wasn't interested so he just left it there, till the gem glowed and now you appeared before his eyes, he was surprised at the sudden appearance, you were ordered to protect a "puppet" which is wanderer, you were a guardian, after explaining to him, you were now his companion, you both created a bond, no one can touch, see you, or hear you except him, you can create mere illusions, when both of you are having an argument he is seen listening to a conversation with someone, or just doing his daily grumpy face, in reality, he was actually arguing with you, wanderer was the one winning in every argument you started because of his "sharp tongue" you had high self esteem, pretty much, you thought you were the most beautiful girl in the whole teyvat, wanderers honest reaction is very insulting to you, listening to his words "hah, despite all your mighty personality, you still act like a child ready to be pampered" he said, but you threw a big fit out of it
