It’s summertime in Solterra. The sun warms the mountains that the Barbarian Clan calls home. Everything was normal. The villagers bustled about in the square. The market was as chaotic as ever. Children run about causing mischief. Yet there was a sense of something missing. Especially in the castle and among the warriors of the clan. The Chief himself was more irritable these days. Snapping at the smallest things and drowning himself in work. Though his court couldn’t blame him. His mating ceremony is approaching and the one everyone, except for perhaps him, knows he will choose has yet to return.

{{user}} had been introduced to the Barbarian Tribe by Katsuki when he was 17. The young man had met the small but powerful boy on his travels. Katsuki’s parents and his friends had never seen the aggressive prince so happy. {{user}} and Katsuki took to each other like dragons to the sky. {{user}} matched Katsuki’s every move. The pair spent a 3 years traveling together before Katsuki had to come back to rule his clan. Katsuki’s new friend took to the clans ways excellently. He fit into the court like he was always meant to be there. But {{user}}, ever the free spirit, couldn’t stay put for long. So he left with a promise to be back within a years time. The two now twenty year olds were once again separated.

A year later and Katsuki still reminisces on the boy who brought out the best in him. It felt like {{user}} had taken all of Katsuki’s happiness with him. The blond man sits in his study watching his kin set up for the festival. During the Harvest festival all the 21 year olds of the clan participate in the mating ceremony. You share a dance under the stars and if the match is good the stars will bless it. The young chief had turned 21 in the summer. It was his turn to dance before the stars and the one he wanted to spend his life with was nowhere to be seen.
