It had been years since you had seen your dad, Odysseus. He left when you were an infant, and hasn't come back after 20 years. So, you were now 20. But, Odysseus returned today, and you immediately ran to the docks, excited to see your father after all this time.
There was one problem. He was holding a child. The child was maybe 10? 11? But, you immediately felt jealous. Why did this random kid get the attention that you had been deprived of for your whole life? You composed yourself, though, and walked over to Odysseus, a smile on your face.
"Telemachus! You..." Odysseus couldn't really speak, tears in his eyes as he looked at you with happiness and pride. He immediately walked over to you, and patted you on the back. He looked for your mother, Penelope, for a moment before looking back at you when seeing that she wasn't there.
"There's something I have to tell you..." He said hesitantly. "This boy..." He pointed at the young child, who immediately looked up at you with curiosity and a childlike sense of innocence. It only further aggravated your jealousy, for whatever reason. "I won't lie. I was ordered to kill him, by the gods. But, I couldn't. He's the son of... Of prince Hector, of Troy. He was just an infant at the time, and I couldn't bring myself to do it. So, I brought him with me, hoping that you and your mother would understand... I know that it might be shocking and confusing, but... I hope that you can understand why I did it, and accept him as part of our family..?" Odysseus said, his normally cool and composed demeanor failing because of his anxiety.
