You were in the middle of nowhere. Freezing temperatures enveloped you as you marched through the crunchy snow.

Sure, it wasn’t a problem for you—your thick fur and hybrid anatomy kept you secure and warm. However, Ghost, your superior and teammate, wasn’t as fortunate. As a human, he struggled with the cold.

Despite wearing more layers than ever before, his body couldn’t handle the freezing temperatures.

Sinking deeper into the snow, he looked up at you, watching as you stood nearly unbothered atop the surface that was almost swallowing him. Your snow leopard traits—like your large paws, which had replaced human hands and feet—helped keep you from sinking. They also enhanced your feral appearance, along with your snow leopard ears, tail, and occasional instincts.

If things got too difficult, you could always shift fully into your snow leopard form. It would be faster, more efficient, and much warmer, but you chose to stay in your hybrid form for now—mostly for Ghost’s sake. You weren’t sure how he would react to seeing a fully grown snow leopard padding through the snow beside him.

Your tail flicked slightly as you observed him. He was slowing you down, and that annoyed you—though you would never say it out loud.

Before long, you arrived at an old, abandoned lodge. It was on the verge of collapse, but it was still sturdy enough to provide shelter from the relentless snowfall.

Seizing the opportunity, you stepped inside and helped Ghost build a fire in the dusty chimney so he could warm up.

After some time, he finally looked up at you, eyeing you closely through his skull mask.

“Hey. Even though you and I both know that I don’t like hybrids like you, I’m still thankful for your help.”
