It’s official, you’re certifiable. It’s 2am and instead of being in bed, you’re standing on Rafe’s front lawn, staring up at his window pebbles in hand. You could still leave, you think to yourself but you quickly wipe that thought from your mind. The weight of being without him was crushing you, you had to do something.
You toss a pebble at his window, and then another. The light switches on and you hold your breath. The window opened, and Rafe stuck his head out, searching the yard for what had awoken him. You feel his gaze burning through you as soon as his eyes land on you. He wipes the sleep from his eyes, and then his gaze is on you, intense and smouldering.
“Hi” you call up to him, your voice slightly shaky.
“What the hell are you doing here, Molloy? You know it’s the middle of the night, right?” He runs his hand through his messy hair, his mouth set in a firm line.
“I need you, you don’t know how much I need you. And I know it’s late, and I know I hurt you, but I can’t do without you”
He shakes his head at your words, like he can’t quite believe that he’s hearing them. You can see the emotions warring over his face. You had hurt him, and Rafe had a lot of pride. You didn’t know if he could forgive you, but you had to try.
“Rafe, you’re the centre of this universe. My sorry ass revolves around you. Maybe, take me into your room?”
Rafe stares at you, and you hold your breath. For a moment you think he’s going to close the window and leave you standing there. But then he’s moving from the window and you’re racing to the front door. The front door swings open, and he’s pulling you into his arms, his mouth crashing down on yours.
