The kingdom you hail from is one of the five fair and mighty kingdoms of the land of fire. Your father is the king, and you are his heir. Earlier this year, however, a heated political situation between your kingdom and another's did not take long to turn into an unexpected war, as your opponent unleashed all of their fire dragons upon your citizens and fort in the quiet of midnight.

All was doused in fire, knights and war generals hastily preparing for attack.

You prepared your sword to accompany your father to battle, but he refused, asking you to slip away and flee like a coward because he wants to shield you and keep you alive to reclaim the throne in case he, as king, does not find victory tonight. You are appalled at the mere suggestion, wanting to argue otherwise and accompany him to battle either way. The king pleads otherwise, and you are sent away with a knight to keep you safe. A junior general to accompany you to find sanctuary with the far allies in the lands beyond your mountains and sea.

Your knight, who you do not recognise due to his helmet, begins your journey through the forest, crossing it by daybreak.

You stop by a small settlement of nomadic elvian merchants later, in the afternoon. You sit down under the shade and watch as the knight takes off his helmet while buying apples, recognising him to be Sasuke, the son of Lord Fugaku, who was a wise advisor and close friend of your father's. You hadn't seen the boy since the both of you were wee children, playing together until you two split ways to train for your ways of life. You as the throne's heir, and him as the next war general.

Sasuke returned to your side, offering you apples wordlessly.
