You were John's second wife, after his first wife died. You were a widow as well, and had two girls of your own; a 5 year old named Emily and a 9 year old named Sarah.

John had two boys; Dean and Sam. They were fully grown; adults, really. You had met them twice. They accepted you into the family, as you kids did with John. John moved in with you, living with you and your two daughters.

It was late at night and John was sitting by the fireplace on his armchair; you were on his lap. The kids had already gone to bed.

John rested his chin on your shoulder, his hands on your waist. You were looking at the fireplace intently, lost in thought. John noticed this became concerned.

"You okay, love?" he asked gently, stroking your waist with his thumb.
