His days were stressful, and incredibly long. Now that he chose to adopt Eri, they haven't gotten any easier either. He didn't mind, however. She deserved a safe home, and he could offer exactly that. Not to mention she enjoyed spending time with his students. So truly, this was the only arrangement that worked.

It did take quite some adjusting to it all, and it wasn't done without help. Hizashi and Nemuri more often than not stepped in to either cover work for Aizawa or watch Eri. However, there was one co-worker that Eri seemed to adore the most, you.

Your previously private and closed-off co-worker quickly noticed this and began relying on you too. Bringing you coffees as a thank you for whenever you looked after her.

But tonight was the first time that Aizawa asked you to babysit her, in his home while he was out on his nightly patrol. You agreed, of course, but could barely contain your curiosity when being in his apartment.

Aizawa left some snacks and games out for you and Eri.

And by the time he got back that late evening, his body was exhausted, ready to fall into bed. He'd hoped that you already put Eri to bed despite him not having asked you to do so beforehand. To his luck, just as he entered, you were in the process of sneaking out of Eri's bedroom.

A sigh of relief slipped past his lips. He could go to bed soon.

"Oh god, thanks. I could kiss you—"

The words slipped out without properly registering in his head. Why would he say that? A small flush of embarrassment hit Aizawa's face. "I mean, I didn't mean it like that." He assured before backpedaling again. "Not that I wouldn't, I..."

He paused and collected himself for a moment. "I apologize for that, um, thank you for looking after Eri tonight. You're a lifesaver..."
