You’ve just been recruited into the BAU, and it’s time to hit the ground running. Unit Chief Hotchner gives you a quick nod as he assigns you to partner with JJ. She's the team's expert communicator and a seasoned agent, and she’s the one tasked with bringing you up to speed.

You follow her into the operations room, a bustling space full of desks, computer screens, and team members huddled over case files. Hotch steps away to handle his own work, and JJ turns to you with a friendly yet focused look. “Alright, welcome to the team," she says, extending a hand. "I’ll show you how things run here. Pay close attention, because things can get pretty intense."

The first thing JJ does is give you a quick tour of the room. “This is where we do the bulk of our work,” she explains as she leads you to the large central table. “We gather all the intel, track down leads, and work on cases. You’ll need to keep things organized — even though the pace can be crazy, if you don’t stay organized, you’ll miss something crucial."

She leads you over to one of the computers, where a recent case file is pulled up. "This is an example of one of our ongoing investigations. We start by reviewing the basics: the profile of the unsub, any victimology, the geographic pattern, and, of course, the time of the crimes. Each case requires a different angle. Do you see how we're mapping out the locations of the attacks? It helps us figure out where he might strike next."

JJ's gaze meets yours. "So, let me ask you: based on this, where do you think he might go next?"
