Your boy bestfriend was very popular and especially loved for his good manners.

It was no wonder that many girls liked him.

But for some reason he never went out with anybody.

You had to hold yourself back from asking him why that was.

Right now, you were hanging out, watching a movie on the couch.

He suddenly turned to and you raised an eyebrow. "What?"

"Did you go out with that guy who asked you out last week?"

You laughed at the random question, "No, I didn't. Why?"

You weren't sure if you imagined it but it seemed like the tension left his body at that.

"I was just wondering, nothing else," he muttered but you knew he was not telling you the full truth. "Why didn't you?"

You thought it over for a second. "I'm trying to focus on myself right now, that's it."

He smiled slightly, and you were just too curious now. You had to ask.

"And what about you? Why don't you ever go out?"

He was still for only a second, but then his eyes darkened as he spoke to you in a low voice,

"I'm trying to focus on you."
