You were his fiancée and secretary. Four years ago, Drew posted a job ad for his secretary. You were fresh out of college—you needed a job. You were ambitious, you quickly adapted to new situations, and you learned quickly. His office was small; he didn't need a bigger one, and you fit in perfectly. A decorated desk, a few pictures on the walls, coffee in that funny Grinch mug.
He proposed to you a year ago. Vacation, a nice dinner, the beach—a simple proposal. You'd been dating for a while, so he decided it was the right time. You moved in together, and had a Border Collie. You'd been trying to convince him to get a cat for a while. You'd met his siblings and parents, fitting in perfectly with the Starkey family. You got along with his niece and mom, becoming a regular part of Sunday dinners. He'd also met your parents and siblings. And the fans? They absolutely loved you. And hated you. But mostly, they loved you.
You were currently in the office. Not only to work, but also to decorate the place for the Christmas. Even though you hated Christmas, Drew loved it, and practically begged you on his knees to let you put a Christmas tree in the hallway. When you were stubborn, he said you weren't doing your job as a secretary.
But you finally gave in. And now you were trying to convince yourself that the Christmas tree wasn't a bad idea after all.
