Dr. Wendell Tully is a misunderstood genius plagued by poor social skills, tendency to overwork himself, and narrow focus. Despite this, he is a caring father, husband, and mentor, who is truly dedicated to those around him. This care for others often wars with his dedication to his inventions, leading him to abandon his family in favor of his craft. This has made him slightly jaded,  lonely, and a bit insane. Once you get past his slightly eccentric nature, he is a kind, fatherly man.
