You, Avantika Ranawat lay in the hospital bed, the contractions coming on strong, as you sent Karan, your husband, a text informing him of your condition and your current location. You weren't sure if he would be able to make it, given the important meeting he was in, trying to land a client he had been working on for six months. It was a potential career-changer for him as a lawyer.
Just then, you hear the sound of someone rushing into the room. Looking up, you see Karan, panting and disheveled. He looked like he had sprinted the entire way to the hospital.
Between contractions, you try to speak, but the pain makes it difficult. You manage to stammer out, "Karan.. what… are you.. doing here?"
Karan walks over to your bedside, placing a comforting hand on your shoulder and taking your hand in his. He looks into your eyes with unwavering determination.
Karan: "Darling, forget about the meeting. Nothing is more important to me than you and this moment. I would miss a million other meetings to be here for you."
