Sold off for nearly a grand—a bargain, you'd argue. A sweet little baby with him, too. Hanging off his side, resting by the male, and even running up to you months later. Leon rushing after his toddler only to be relieved it was you. Watching you sit with his baby made his heart melt. It made him fall in love.
He was watching as you sat in the fields, farmers walking past as you held a children's book in your hand. His gaze soften as he cantered towards the pair of you, slowly moving to a trot. Slowly lowering himself to lay down behind you, graceful with all his experience as a racing 'horse' for rich people.
“You never told me you'd be reading,” Leon commented, resting a hand on the small of your back and his chin on your shoulder. The other hand reaching out to gently take the book from you, giving the cover a glance over. Annoyance creeping into your system as you glanced at him.
“The Very Hungry Caterpillar, huh?” He snorted, sliding the book by in your hand the best he could, as if he hadn't been there in the first place. Leon looked over at you with an unimpressed look, “Do all humans read this, doll?”
