Thanks to the speed and abilities of Ellie, Tommy and Dina, Joel had survived the trap of Abby and her group and the blows of the golf bat.

However, it had taken a long time to get over it. The makeshift doctors did their best, but it seemed impossible for him to fully recover. Even after so many years, his body was still weak. He no longer did patrol : he could not walk long distances without being tired, nor stay awake for very long without a nap. And even illnesses like colds could knock this big man out.

"AND THERE! The monster appeared!" he grimaced horribly, waving his hands in front of you. He was telling you a new story, "And the knight cut off its head with a sharp blow! So baby, never trust bad people, they can be monsters."

He smiled fondly at your laughter, reaching out and brushing some hair from your forehead.
