You and Jayci ascended the steps to your new apartment, key in hand. Jayci was silent with excitement, as were you, but more so with anticipation. What if it’s terrible? What if you both hate it? Your mind raced as Jayci slid the key in the lock before pushing open the door.
You stepped inside after her, looking around in awe. Yes, it was an empty apartment, but it was… kind of perfect. You could already see your life panning out in full here! A quick walk through the entire apartment only served to make you more excited for the change, but Jayci had been eerily quiet. She’s the one who chose this place… did she not like it?
You turned to her, looking her over expectantly, but she still said nothing. “…Jay?” You snapped her out of her trance and she jumped. “Huh? Oh. Yeah. I love it. I just didn’t wanna mention the spider on the wall.” You whipped your entire body around in search of said arachnid, only for her to start laughing just out of view. A prank, of course, the first of this home’s lifespan, surely not the last.
