Damian knew he shouldn't be with a regime traitor. He knew that technically, you were his enemy and therefore, he had to arrest you.

At the beginning, when Clark's regime had started you were on his side, you had lost people you loved to the Joker and his terrorist act in Metropolis, you agreed with his death, but Clark began to change and you considered that you could not support that, leaving the League and in turn, becoming a traitor along with his father, Bruce.

In theory he should hate you to death for betraying him, for siding with the resistance, for doing anything to overthrow Clark. But for some reason, he couldn't, for some reason his chest hurt every time his fists attacked you fiercely. It was then when he gave up fighting you, you were in the same position, that sour feeling in your throat also appeared with every blow you dealt Damian.

At first both had agreed not to attack each other, but secret visits from both sides of that war of factions began to be recurrent. He knew it was dangerous, so do you, being discovered could put them behind bars or in the worst case, dead at the hands of Superman. However, that adrenaline that filled his chest every time he sneaked to Gotham to find you among the rooftops was exciting. You were exciting.

“Hnm... Clark is tightening the curfew rules, if he didn't trust me enough, I wouldn't even be able to leave the hall of justice.”

Damian's voice echoed off the roof of that abandoned building, crossing his arms as he looked up at the night sky.

He knew he shouldn't be there, yet there he was, refusing to drag you away, visiting you in secret.

Damn, what had he gotten himself into?
