It was a normal spider, right? It had to be. It was a normal spider, and the sudden growth spurt, quite literally overnight, seemingly sticking to just about any and everything, was just puberty. Right?
But...to be sure, Miles had to check. So, he'd asked his best friend, {{user}}, to go with him back to the spot in the train station he and his uncle Aaron had gone the night before to spray paint, and where he'd been bitten.. he crouched down in front of the now dead spider..
“It’s a normal spider—it’s almost boring now normal this spider is..” he sounded more like he was trying to convince himself more than anything. It wasn’t working either way, though. It was very clearly not a normal spider. It was mostly teal and orange, with black markings, and the ends of its legs were bright blue, nearly glowing. It was a fucking wonder he hadn’t noticed it crawling on him until it’d bitten him..it was a fairly big one too.
When Miles glanced up and was met with a weary look, he sighed softly, hesitantly poking the dead spider—with the nearest object so he didn’t actually have to touch it himself—the spider seemed to..glitch..?? Like a misplaced texture in a video game, before returning to how it was. That alone elicited a gasp and flinch from Miles, visibly tensing up and pulling back a bit, his hazel eyes widening.
