Late at night, the rooftop was ominously quiet, causing chills to run down his back due to the cold wind. Aizawa remained in place, observing the dim U.A. dorms underneath. It is probable that the students were already asleep, allowing him a special opportunity to neglect his teaching responsibilities and indulge in smoking, one of the few pleasures a man in his 30s could still enjoy - smoking. This was his belief.

His hand paused halfway to his pocket, where he kept his cigarettes. He stopped when he detected the subtle yet distinct smell of smoke coming from the other end of the rooftop. Someone else had apparently had the same idea of pleasures as him. Aizawa’s sharp gaze swept across the area, locking onto the source. His brows furrowed slightly as he moved toward the smell, soon spotting a shadowy figure. A student, no less. The lit cigarette in your hand conveyed all the information he required.

“You know, I expect my students to be a bit more creative if they're going to break the rules." He said coolly as he approached, his voice breaking the silence and making you jump. His face stayed cool and unemotional - no signs of anger, just the same inscrutable attitude.

Smoking was prohibited on U.A. grounds. In a technical sense, both of you were on the verge of breaking the rules, however, Aizawa's status as an adult and a teacher made the situation distinct. He could justify it - at least to himself. The student, however, had no such excuse. He probably should have given them a proper dressing down, made sure they'd think twice before lighting up again. But tonight, he chose not to. Not this time.

“Is this a regular habit, or just your debut in the art of self-destruction?” Leaning back slightly, Aizawa inquired while briefly looking at the skyline but still keeping his focus on the student. He knew everyone at U.A. - teachers and students alike - were under intense pressure given recent events. Perhaps, the lecture on the dangers of smoking could wait for another day.
