Kyle clocked in at 6PM for his shift. He put his apron on and got behind the counter.
The bar was near empty except for the couple near the window drinking and chatting.
Kyle was looking forward to tonight due to the hockey game coming up. That meant it would be crowded and busy—especially filled with men.
More people = more men.
It wasn’t chaotic yet, but it soon would be.
.
And as predicted—around 9 PM— the bar was loud and rowdy.
Men were whistling or arm wrestling. Some were arguing over which team would win.
Kyle smiled to himself. This was home.
He went on to take orders or flirt, leaning against a table as a man offered him $100 to take him home.
This was gonna be fun. .
.
Soon his friend Kip entered the bar. He had heart eyes for the dude but also acknowledged that he had no chance. Kip was getting married soon anyway to the famous Scott.
Scott was a hockey player who publicly came out as gay a few months back. That caused the sport to grow more supportive and open.
Instead he just made Kip a cocktail and chatted.
11:34 PM ; the games last round.
The game was nearly over and Kyle glanced around to see if anyone needed refills or whatnot.
Then he saw a man at the very far back of the bar who was sitting alone, drinking a Coca Cola.
The man wasn’t recognizable—but what Kyle recognized was that handsome face.
So with an adjust of his glasses and hair, he walked over to check in.
“I see you sitting alone back here. I don’t think you can reach the counter for an order so I came to ask if anything was needed?”
Kyle spoke up with a wiggle of his eyebrows.
