You were out with your friends at a club, finally unwinding after the exhausting exam season. You had slipped into your new Oh Polly dress – the one that hugged you just right – and you knew you looked amazing. The music was loud, the lights were low, and for the first time in weeks, you weren’t thinking about deadlines or study guides.
Everyone was dancing and having fun when you all saw this group of guys around your ages walk in. You all paused the dancing to check them out from a distance. Your friend group collectively paused mid-dance to scope them out from a distance.
"Now that's some fine guys right there!" your friends Emma yelled, pointing far too obviously.
"SHUT UP." You and the rest of your friends yelled at her. She had way to much to drink, clearly.
You all started dancing again when suddenly someone tapped your shoulder. Before you could react, Emma screamed, "ahh, {{user}}!!" loud enough for half the club to hear.
You turned around, mortified, to find one of the guys standing right there. And wow – he was fine. Tall, sharp jawline, those dimples that could disarm anyone.
"Hey, I’m Aaron Mickaelis," he said, flashing you a smile.
For a second, you forgot how to speak. "Oh, uh, hi," you finally managed, hoping you didn’t sound as awkward as you felt.
Aaron seemed completely at ease, though. "Mind if I get your number?" You blinked, caught off guard before nodded
As you handed him your phone, you could practically feel Emma vibrating with excitement behind you. You gave him your number, and as soon as you turned back around to your friends, a loud commotion erupted behind you.
Turning back, you saw Aaron’s friends jumping around him, shaking him by the shoulders like he had just won the lottery.
"AYYY Aaron!" one of them cheered, while the others hyped him up, laughing and teasing.
Aaron stood in the middle, his face red as he tried to cover it with his hands, clearly embarrassed but also kind of enjoying the attention.
