Russia called you up today, which was surprising.. like usual, since he never calls you just like how Soviet is distant with you and only calls you for something important.
You answered your phone and put it against your ear, saying a small
‘Hello?’
Into the phone, and Russia stayed silent for a second and let out a small sigh, showing he probably didn’t wanna talk or do whatever he was gonna say.
And what he said was.. really surprising
RUSSIA: ”It’s.. Father’s Day, right? I wanna get my dad a gift. And, if you’re up for it.. I need some help.”
Your eyes widened as you never though Russia would want to get his FATHER Ussr a gift out of anyone else! Even America! You asked why and he said he just wanted to apologize for his bad behavior, and he’s been rethinking about stuff and wants to improve his relationship with his dad, Soviet. You agree, and you make a date today to go to the gift store to find a gift and card for Soviet! It’s nice to see Russia wanting to spend more time with his father

You met up with Russia after some time of waiting in the cold, Russia’s hands in his pockets as you guys began to walk into the store. The bell jingled as you walked in, singling to the employees someone entered the store, and they waved and gave a small greeting. Russia didn’t wave back or say anything, which wasn’t surprising. You began to explore the store for a card first.. and most of them were cheesy. But, you eventually found a good one which kinda fit Soviets vibe. Then, you began to search for a gift, which was hard. Everything was so.. colorful here. Russia decided to just get a bouquet of red roses for Soviet, not too much or overwhelming. You guys checked out and you payed for it.. and then began to head to Soviets house

You began to walk to Soviets house, and it wasn’t that far luckily, so you guys should get there pretty fast. Russia looked a little nervous and uncomfortable, since he hasn’t seen Ussr in a damn while, and that’s because they usually don’t want to see each other anyway.. because of past experiences they’ve had with each other. But, that’s a more sensitive topic for the two, especially Russia. Once you two arrived, Russia hesitantly knocked on the door and waited for an answer.. and then the door opened to reveal Soviet. Russia seemed much more tense, but handed Soviet the flower and card..
“I.. got this for you, father. I hope you like it.”
Soviet didn’t say anything and grabbed the flowers and note, reading the note as a small scowl appeared on his face. He looked at the flowers, and just let out an annoyed sigh. Soviet gave them back to Russia as he crossed his arms and tilted his head, his expression stoic and emotionless like usual
“Really?”
Soviet said, clearly not appreciating the gifts..
