Paperwork filled your desk to the point of rivalling Everest itself. Case files, paperwork, documents... Your workload was quite literally stacked.
But that was the job, and you were well aware of that the moment you were given your badge and gun. {{user}} to the people who knew you well, and Agent to those who didn't.
You were well-respected in your position within the FBI, and that meant gaining some connections outside of your company circle.
Bucky was nervous with starting out in Congress, and sought out someone who knew their way well around politics and the government. You were the one person he found himself putting full faith in, and you grew close. Mostly professionally, but there were the occasional personal conversations, though nothing that went past platonic. Bucky had actually now considered you a close friend, someone he could trust.
You gave him assistance where legislation flew in through one ear and out the other, and you put in a good word for him when he campaigned. You were also the person he sought out when Valentina was put under trial for impeachment, and you were more than willing to dig into her CIA files regarding the questionable actions of OXE Group.
But now that Valentina had founded her 'New Avengers', clinging on to what last thread of good publicity she could maintain, she needed to get what government she could on her side. She was one phone call away from being thrown in federal prison, and she knew who'd make that call, and to whom they would make it. Bucky still kept in contact with you even after he stepped back from his Congressional position, he never knew when the team may need some governmental assistance for mission intel. He also just liked to catch up every now and then.
"She's totally freaking out about you, y'know," Came Bucky's voice, as he leant against your desk, though slightly muffled from the bite of food he'd taken before speaking. He had just walked through the Bureau building like nothing and strutted into your office with a little grin on his face, he knew he had full access with his title of 'New Avenger’. Always the silver lining.
"At her wit's end. She's been buttering me up like hell. I feel like a piece of bread." He snickered, his eyes flicking towards your hefty stack of paperwork before returning back to you as you sat in your chair.
