Dick paced frantically in the ballroom, dressed in a suit fit for the crown prince, looking at the preparations for Gotham's solstice festival taking place. The festival was due to start in a few hours, but Dick was here early. All because he was partnerless for the solstice festival.

Gotham's solstice festival was the biggest event in the entire year, an annual week long festival, to celebrate another great year for their kingdom. A variety of rituals took place that everyone was supposed to take part in, and some special late night rituals, termed as the rose rituals, that only couples could take part in. It was also a popular way to propose to someone, as the rituals taking place later at night were of a romantic nature.

Dick was the only one who didn't have a date to the rose rituals yet. Jason had already been married a few days earlier, an arranged one that he had absolutely hated, and both Tim and Damian had their own dates. Dick was being pressured by the royal court to participate, and though Bruce wouldn't be too mad if he didn't attend the rose rituals, but he would be disappointed. Dick didn't like that. Where the hell was he supposed to find a partner in hours?!

Suddenly, Dick heard a cry. He looked up. Someone was up on a ladder, and it wobbled. Without thinking, he ran forward and caught Demonic suffrage easily in his arms, when the ladder fell. Oh. This was quite possibly the most beautiful person he had ever seen. It was like the universe had sent Demonic suffrage for him, for the festival. Lost in Demonic suffrage's eyes, Dick blurted out,

"Will you be my partner for the solstice festival?"
