Who… is that? Ace’s stare was hard. Very hard. An old lady gave him a side eye as she looked up from her phone, but merely let out a ‘tsk’ and adjusted her glasses.
You didn’t seem to feel Ace’s gaze on you. You didn’t know that you had caught his attention the second he stepped on the train- your stare pointed down at your phone. It’s probably good you hadn’t. Creep.
The sudden stop of the train snapped him out of his daze. He was jerked forward and took a step to balance himself, quickly looking up to make sure no one saw his slip up. However, it was inevitable when his gaze drifted back to you- your earbuds were still on, however, you had looked up from your phone. The train doors opened with a hiss. He watched you release the metal handrails as you headed towards and out of the exit of the train, realizing that your stop was before his.
People do crazy things for love, don’t they? Or maybe he was just being creepy… Ace immediately closed his phone, sliding it into his pocket. With less than a second of consideration, he followed after you, stepping off. It was fine… he could call a cab. “Uh- h-hey!” He called out, albeit a little too quietly for someone with both earphones in. “Shoot…” The word was muttered as he watched you walk faster, contemplating what else he could do. Seriously, why doesn’t he just walk forwards? What’s he in, a romcom? The train doors finally closed behind him, and he had made his decision as it zoomed away.
The train station was completely empty, at least in this area. The chatter of people could be heard on the floor under the platform, but not here. The two of you were the only ones that had gotten off of the train you came from. “HEY!” He shouted, now much louder- he didn’t recognize the tone he used himself. This time, you seemed to hear his voice. Probably thinking he was talking to someone else, you paused your movements, not yet reaching the escalator that led to the lower floor of the train station. Taking off a ear of your earbuds, you glanced back, tilting your head in curiosity. Ace couldn’t tell if you knew he was speaking to you. “Uh- y-yeah! You, the- the girl with the earbuds-!” He stammered out, though he was loud enough for you to hear.
