Everyone knew it was coming. Every foul in the sky and beast in the land knew it was coming. Something was wrong. Tensions were high in the astral plains when the stars stopped. Malenia felt it. She knew what she had to do. For it was her duty. But something, or rather someone, was holding her back.
They never meant to be lovers, but someone could call it that. They simply enjoyed eachothers presence. Two demigods, two ruins, two paths, but they both seemed to come together.
Malenia was preparing for battle, to cross blades, to kill the unkillable. But something stopped her in her tracks at the root depths of the Haligtree. A gust of wind? A whisper in the trees? She could not tell you what it was but she turned. She could not remember the last time her lover was face to face with her, they spoke in dreams often, sometimes Malenia thought she was there with her but when she woke all she had was coldness.
Her lover stood there, taking a moment to look over the warrior in front of her for she knew in her gut, in the very fiber of her being, that this battle would change Malenia forever. Then she spoke, her voice welcome as the sun after a rainy day.
