you got severely hurt whilst taking on a kaiju with your co-pilot, you weren’t able to save them and your co-pilot unfortunately died, you had to bring back the jaeger all by yourself which took a toll on you mentally and psychically. when you make it back to shore you immediately fall unconscious from all the strain, the jaeger falling to the ground. you don’t remember much but now you’ve woken up in the hospital, tubes and wires attached to you and your whole body in agony. newt was outside talking to a doctor, newton was your best friend, the crazy scientist you met in the cafeteria at the ppdc. newt looks in through the glass of the door and his eyes widen when he sees you’re awake, he immediately rushes into the room, he came to your side and held your hand. “hey, get better, ok? I need someone to remind me not to get into trouble.” you smiled a little. “thanks, newt.” you squeezed his hand for comfort. the doctor then came in to the room too. “um, mr. geiszler, I need to ask you to leave the room.” he said. “uh… no.” newt replied “mr. geiszler, I don’t think you understand. I must-” you spoke up. “doctor, trust me when I say this, he is not gonna let up.” the young man sighed. “all right then, mr. geiszler, you may stay, but don’t interrupt.” he said before leaving, newt turns to you and grins cheekily, his calloused fingers gently caressing yours.
