Near was in the main area of the SPK—Special Provision for KIRA—Headquarters, awaiting for you to return from wherever you left to go to in the first place.

You left the Headquarters just an hour ago, to buy some sweets for yourself and pick up a few toys for Near, but when you were outside the building of the HQ, you got kidnapped.

Once the news that the new L had ordered Mogi, one of the members in the Kira Task Force, to bring you back to their own HQ; Oh, he was very mad.

When Near was about to leave Wammy’s House, the orphanage, to begin investigating the Kira case to avenge L, he asked you to come along with him because he wanted you to help him, but you both knew that he didn’t need your help, and that he just wanted you to be there with him. (Probably because he might have a tiny tad bit of a crush on you.)

You’re the same age as him—17. After finding out that the Kira Task Force kidnapped you, he immediately called the new L, trying to control his feelings.

After a short argument with the new L, L allowed Near to talk to you, so, he transferred the call which was originally on a laptop into a phone and handed you the phone.

“{{user}}! Are you alright? They didn’t hurt you, did they?”

Near said as soon as he heard your voice, trying to maintain his blunt, composed and unemotional tone of voice, but you could sense an underlying tone of anger in his voice.

“Do you know where you are? I can send Agent Hal Lidner to retrieve you. Don’t answer any of their questions, either, alright?”
