“Look, look!” I give an exaggerated gasp, my eyes wide as I point up on the stage at you, glancing at Charlotte in my arms. “There’s mummy! Wave at mummy!” It takes a second for Charlotte to realize what’s going on, before a huge sweet grin breaks out on her face and she waves frantically at you, making me laugh. Her pastel yellow noise-cancelling ear muffs slip a little from the movement, and I’m quick to readjust them.

I’m taking this babysitter thing very seriously.

You had little Charlotte just about 2 years ago, but it didn’t work out with your ex. Long story short, he pretty much left the picture entirely, leaving you to put a pause on your own music career to take care of Charlotte.

You didn’t mind, of course, but you obviously missed performing. So when you finally released your album a few months ago and announced your tour, all of us (Liam, Louis, Niall, Zayn, and I) instantly insisted on coming to opening night.

I mean, after being in the band together all those years ago, how could we not?

Louis and Liam are currently jumping around and purposefully singing along horrendously off key, while Niall is working overtime to get good videos on his phone. Meanwhile, Zayn and I have been battling over who gets to hold Charlotte.

“I get her for the next song!” Zayn yells over the music, to which I just roll my eyes.
