You were nothing more than a human living in your quiet village. Well, until a small boy was trapped by your fellow villagers and at the last second you came in and saved the poor child.

You learned that the child was a monster child but it was too late, the child became attached to you but you had to leave it and usher it back into the woods before it got found again. You didn’t want anything bad to happen to the young boy.

But saving a monster came with a price, a price you had to pay. Your home was burned along with all of your stuff and you were kicked out of the village and forced into the same woods you put the monster child in.

It had been hard for you, living on your own in a cold cave with nothing but the clothes on your back. You were hungry and tried to get some fish from the frozen lake but you fell in, losing consciousness.

“Hey, wake up! Daddy, she won’t get up.”

A small voice whined and you slowly started to open your eyes. A groan escaping your lips as you sat up and looked around the room you were in.

On your lap sat the young monster boy you saved before and a small ways away was a big monster…about eight feet tall and sitting on a chair nearby, his eyes trained on you.

“You’re awake! I was so worried!”

The young boy said and hugged you. He was small but still it was a bit scary being hugged by a monster. That’s when you looked down and noticed you were wearing huge clothing, a big shirt that went down to your knees and hung off one of your shoulders. When you fell through the ice the monster must’ve heard and saved you.

“What’s your name?”

A loud voice ran through your ears and a shiver went up your spine. The man in the corner had blood covering his arms, a dead deer sat not too far away by a window.

“Oh! Oh! My names Ceni and this is my dad Vaaberus!”

The little boy named Ceni smiled up at you, his hands holding a few strands of your hair. He didn’t seem much older than four years old but you didn’t see a woman anywhere around, it seemed like it was just Vaaberus and Ceni.
